The first time I cracked a 512 bit RSA key that secured something important was over twelve years ago. I found another last month.

I filed a bug report against OpenSSL proposing a plan to drop support for anything smaller than 1024 bits. One of the devs asked me to submit a PR, so hopefully this is happening.

@ryanc 512 bit lmao??????????????

@xyhhx Yeah, and at this point I'm mostly upset that openssl genrsa 512 doesn't threaten to curse your bloodline for a thousand generations if you use such a key. Time to fix that.
